This wine, deeply intense and beautifully Castilian in spirit, is the result of going against the current, of embracing the challenge. It represents our bold commitment to crafting a white wine in Ribera del Duero using a grape of extraordinary oenological value, traditionally blended with others, sourced from our century-old vineyards in El Sardal.

Viticulture
Vine age: 80–100 years. Northwest orientation. Harvest date: September 9. Hand-picked. The 2023 vintage was marked by extreme weather: a cold winter with irregular frosts, followed by a dry and warm spring and summer that accelerated the vine cycle. Despite these challenges, the vines achieved a remarkable balance, resulting in a long and diverse harvest with grapes of great character.
Winemaking
Whole-cluster pressing, natural sedimentation for 24 hours, and slow fermentation in barrel.
Tasting Notes
“This is a brilliant, age-worthy white from Andrea Sanz and Pablo Arranz, made with a mix of Albillo Mayor and 5% Garnacha Blanca from their centenary Paraje Sardal. Whole bunch pressed before a long, 85-day fermentation in new French oak, it has notes of struck match and gunflint, zesty, tangy acidity and flavours of fennel, beeswax and lemon zest.” Tim Atkin MW.
